Adding P.I.F. Frames

Adding P.I.F. Frames to the Memory Card in Printer

On some EPSON printer models with built-in memory card drive, you can print photos directly from the printer without connecting to a PC. You can use the control panel of the printer to decorate the photos with P.I.F. Frames.

Note:
  • Make sure that the software for P.I.F. is not running before you start EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool.
  • This function is not available with some EPSON products.
  • Some of the functions are not available in some areas.

For Windows users:
Click the Start button, point to All Programs (Programs for Windows 98SE/Me/2000 users), EPSON PRINT Image Framer, and then select EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool. Click EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool.

For Mac OS X users:
Double-click your startup disk icon on the desktop, the Applications folder, EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool folder, and then EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool icon.

Select Memory Card in Printer from the Change Destination menu.

In the Select a Printer dialog box, specify if your printer model appears in the list or not.

When the following dialog box appears, insert a memory card in the printer's memory card drive, and then click Next.

Note:
When you insert a memory card, the software for P.I.F. may start. If this happens, quit the software for P.I.F.

Click on the right side of the Memory Card pull-down list to select a destination memory card drive.

Note:
  • The memory card may not be recognized when you click Next immediately after the memory card is inserted. If this happens, click Rescan and locate the memory card drive again.
  • A subfolder named EPUDL is created in the root folder of the selected drive; P.I.F. Frames are moved or copied into this folder.

After selecting a memory card, click OK.

Insert the CD-ROM. From the CD-ROM, select ALBUM or FRAME in the LAYOUTS folder of the left window.

P.I.F. Frames that can be added appear in the left-side list.

Note for Windows users:
  • You need to map a folder on the network drive before you select the folder.
  • If you have downloaded P.I.F. Frames from a website, locate the P.I.F. Frames from the folder tree on the left.

Be sure the paper size of the P.I.F. Frames matches the paper size you want to use.

Note:
P.I.F. Frames are exclusive for each paper size. Be sure the paper size of the P.I.F. Frames matches your printer before you add them to a memory card.

Select a P.I.F. Frame that you want to add or copy, and then click the or button.

Clicking the button copies the selected P.I.F. Frame to the memory card.

Note:
  • You can store up to 100 frames on a memory card; however, the actual number depends on the capacity of the memory card.
  • If you do not log on as an administrator or if you select a P.I.F. Frame from the CD-ROM, the selected P.I.F. Frame may not be deleted from the Add source list even if you click the button.
  • When you select the P.I.F. Frame for a digital camera, using the button is not available (the button is dimmed), but using the button is possible.
  • You may need to convert P.I.F. Frames between different file formats. In some cases, you may encounter an alert message when converting frames between formats. For details, see File Types of P.I.F. Frames.

Close EPSON PRINT Image Framer Tool.

For details on printing, refer to your printer's documentation.
